cremallera museum

The Cremallera (rack railway) museum, located at the Ribes Vila station (Ribes de Freser), allows you to gain an in-depth knowledge of the history of the Vall de Núria rack railway line. Visitors can go inside the oldest locomotive trains of “the Geperuda”, the Electric E-3 train as it was originally, as well as the dining carriage, considered a luxury and decorated with fine materials, and which still runs on special occasions. The old rack mechanism for the entrance of the rack railway as well as other elements which are characteristic of the line that have been part of this railway operation over the years can also be seen in the exhibition. Vall de Núria aims to offer visitors a series of options that combine entertainment with culture, which help them gain more in-depth knowledge of various aspects, including current, historical and traditional facets of the whole valley. Entry is free and it is open from 8:30 am to 8:00 pm.
