Typical mountain vegetation surround the small paths and tracks (which are very appropriated to make excursions) and merges with the autochthonous fauna. In addition, there are farmers in the area who own animals, groves, pastures, and fields. Unexpected landscapes can appear before your eyes any moment; for instance, you can come across samples of the rural architecture (fully integrated within the landscapes) or find proof of the farmers’ activities such as corrals, big salt vaults, and huts. Nevertheless, what we value the most in the valley are the Romanesque remains: important historical monuments, small churches, and medieval castles; all this, together with some modernist monuments, consolidate the rich patrimony of the territory.
Our gastronomy is rich in homemade and artisanal products such as honey, mets (“cookies”), dairy products, daines (“cookies”), cottage cheese, sausages, and meat from the area. The valley’s ways have helped maintain a culture full of mountain habits and traditions.
