Patronat de Turisme de la Vall de Ribes

Planoles forms a narrow perpendicular strip of land along the river Rigard between the areas of Toses, Ribes, and Campelles and extends from north to south, from Serra d’Estremera to the hill of Coma Ermada.
The village is on the left side of the river, very close to the railway Barcelona-Puigcerdà and the N-152 highway. Both the northern and the southern slopes are covered by oak and pine woods up to a height of 1,800 m, containing two different ecosystems: the shady and the sunny. The inhabitants live mainly in the village; however, there are also some more isolated neighborhoods (les Casetes and Planès) and some scattered country houses (Cruells-Serrat, Aspre, Fosses and El Molí).
